Understanding and applying the tech trends will help startups and businesses to grasp new opportunities.

As a business and tech enthusiast, I always keep track of the top new technologies in the market. In this article, I share the biggest technology trends in 2020 with you that may offer new avenues for pursuing imminent careers.

It’s time to train yourself and master one of these technologies.

Top 6 Latest Technology Trends 2020

Latest Technology Trends

1. Artificial Intelligence

AI is one of the most evolving technologies in our generation. It has already started to transform everything in our daily lives.

From Alexa to self-driving cars, we can experience how AI is playing the role of human intelligence and performing tasks instantly. Actually, this imminent technology existed before the Internet was born. It has been around many years.

Over the last decade, tech enterprises have explored how artificial intelligence can improve customer experience and streamline business operations.

AI so become a part, sometimes the world cannot do anything without it.

During 2020, we will see wider adoption and a growing pool of AI-based applications that ease out managing specific tasks. The future of artificial intelligence is now predictable and, whence, it will overtake human intelligence.

2. Blockchain Technology

Blockchain technology has evolved something greater. It allows digital information to get distributed on different channels but prohibits it from being copied.

Don Tapscott, Co-founder & executive chairman of the Blockchain Research Institute, states that blockchain is becoming the heart of the innovation economy.

He also affirmed that it is a digital ledger of economic transactions that can program to record not just financial transactions but virtually everything of value.

Big brands like FedEx, IBM, Walmart, and MasterCard are continuously investing larger chunks into crypto currencies. Encouraging other big players like Facebook, that’s also planning to launch its blockchain-based crypto Libra. After Investing on Blockchain Technology, big enterprises are leading many small ventures to adopt this trendy technology.

3. 5G Data Networks

5G Data Network is a wireless communication that brings new customer experiences such as super-fast downloading and uploading, augmented reality games, and networking of smart devices.

This fifth generation of mobile internet networks already became available in 2019. But it is highly expensive and accessible only in larger cities. However, 2020 is ready to be the year of 5G data networks with affordable data plans as well available for everyone, even in smaller cities.

This increased bandwidth of the Internet will benefit the companies of having a super-fast and stable network everywhere. It will also enable machines, autonomous vehicles, and smart devices to gather more data and process them instantly than ever.

Also, it is an advanced way to open new opportunities in the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence.

4. Autonomous Driving

While we yet aren’t there to travel in self-driving cars and vehicles. However, automated technology has revolutionized the transportation industry.

We have already designed newer cars with automated features. Such as parking slot detection, collision detection, and advanced navigation ability with no input from a human driver.

In 2020, autonomous vehicles will undoubtedly gain popularity. Tech companies like Tesla expect to create an autonomous vehicle by the next year. These enterprises are trying hard at work to deliver vehicles with automated braking and lane-changing technology.

Automated Driving Systems (ADS) will attract huge changes and opportunities after breakthrough from significant hurdles and big advancements. Recently, Waymo’s self-driving taxi transported 6,300 passengers in its first month in a robotaxi pilot program in California.  That program wasn’t open to the public. Employees and experts took those rides as it was a trial of autonomous cars.

Autonomous technology is about to become a reality for more and more people shortly.

5. Computer Vision

Computer Vision enables machines to see the world and interpret the visuals as humans do. Artificial Intelligence is making this technology more capable of replicating human vision and seeing things that humans can’t.

At present, computer vision technology uses deep learning algorithms and artificial neural networks to sense the images. Neural networks help to scan images pixel by pixel to identify patterns. Also, present the output after scanning each input.

Major players like Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook use it to categorize posts, videos, and other content and provide advanced editing options to the end-users.

Autonomous vehicles will depend on advanced AI computer vision. By gathering real-world data and recording variables that occur during driving. The tech players implemented complex object recognition algorithms and tracking methods.

This technology is the future. It has become a massive step to create a better world with accuracy.

6. Extended Reality

Extended Reality (XR) covers all the virtual, augmented and mixed reality technologies. Here, Virtual Reality (VR) offers you a fully digital experience where you feel that entered a computer-generated world. Everything blends out in the real world when you see it using headsets.

Augmented Reality (AR) enriches the real-world by adding digital information and media into it. You can take the example of popular Snapchat filters, just overlaying digital objects onto the real via smartphones, tablets, etc. Mixed reality is just the extended version of AR. In this way, users can interact with digital objects in the true world.

VR and AR have been around for a few years now. These technologies will bring exciting possibilities for tech players and new businesses.

Rapid changes to technology, it usually become hard to perceive the innovation under way. The list above highlights the latest technology trends that all set to change the real world. Therefore, 2020 will be an interesting year for major players and budding tech entrepreneurs alike.
